Marble Painting

I'll admit to being a Type-A mommy when it comes to painting crafts.  So, I'll admit to feeling a little stressed about the idea of a paint-saturated marble jumping out of the bin and rolling across the floor or hitting the wall.  But it was worth it!  The finished products were so colorful and beautiful!

I placed a piece of paper in the bottom of an inexpensive disposable roasting pan.  Some people say to tape it down, and that probably would have been a good idea, but I just set it in the bottom.  The kids chose which two colors + white went on the paper, and we sprinkled glitter on it.  Then we dropped in a marble and started rolling!  Yes, the marbles escaped a few times.  But they made beautiful paintings, and they were so happy with the results!

I found that my tempera paint was a little gloppy and the marble tended to get stuck at first, so on subsequent paintings I did a line of paint instead of a big glob.  That seemed to help.
